I really hate the plastic splash shield, mine has worn out and is looking really ugly, and certain bolt holes have ripped over time. I really wish they made a metal one with an oil pan and oil filter access door to make oil changes easier.
I know there are some metal ones made for a G35 but none for a M35.

You can always get a custom one made very easily. Antz has one I believe. I was thinking of possibly getting one myself some time this year too since after 8 years of life, mine too is looking a bit haggard now.

I've seen OEM lower covers on E-Bay from actual Infiniti dealers and others. Here is one for $62:

and one for $75 only for AWD models:

I believe Antz metal shield also has a custom cut-out or removable section to allow for easy oil changes too, but don't quote me on that.

Yeah I did go on Ebay and saw they were pretty cheap, but if I can get the one that Antz has that would be great.

I took my plastic shield to a sheet metal shop and they used it as a template to make this:

Works great-no more torn and scraping on the asphalt plastic crap. To change oil they just remove the whole shield-no access panel. I blast thru snowdrifts now!!

Oh, thought you'd like to look at my genuine (Infiniti...) Coco mats:

LOL I like those mats.
Yeah I hate these sorry plastic covers, even when I worked at infinit I hated doing oil changes, using a bunge cord to hold it back while the oil drained. I know they a metal one with an access door to do oil changes, but I don't know how much it would differ from our underbody.

I asked a dealership near me about a week ago actually about that metal plate version they make for the G35 and 350Z. I was hoping some mounting holes would be close enough to make it work but the dealership said it will not fit right.

His product is legit!!! There has to be someone in Vegas on our forum.... I found his thread and it has the link to his product....
