Engine sounds loud when accelerating

Im wondering why the engine sounds loud when i accelerate or rev past 2k? like the fan is running high or something. Can it be exhaust leak causing the sound? it only happens when im going over 2k rpms otherwise if the car is just running you dont hear it.

could be the exhaust system is wearing out. In my experience exhaust leaks usually sound like a ticking clock.

if you get your car up on front wheel ramps, you'll be able to hear where it's coming from

Turns out to be the fan clutch. Is it normal for it to roar on cold start or when accelerating?

the FSM says for inspection: check fan coupling for rough operation, oil leakage or bent bimetal....
sounds like yours is toast...
replace
