Can you describe this "engine slap"? What motor is it?

I don't know much on this matter but here is my understanding of "engine slap": There is too much clearance between piston and cylinder wall which allows the piston to slap against the cylinder.

I would assume the only way to resolve the issue is to pull the motor, have the walls honed, and get some pistons to fit.

That is very true considering a piston set is ~700, then there is machine work...

Might as well sell the shell to me.

Yikes man, you should have been looking for another one ever since you found the cancer.

What parts are on your current car that you would swap over?

If I would buy another one that was automatic I would probably swap da Manual transmission... I am going to keep da motor for spare parts... The rest of the car would be sold or junkyard....

LOL. Thunder stolen.

I was going to say the same thing.

People that post like that really lose intelligence points with me. Please, it is not hard to type the instead of da and so on.

Piston slap? Get a new engine.

keep whole words and proper english. Stick to these general guides and you will be bit more respected. Post those kind of uncommon internet acronyms, then you will simply be ignored.

Second, do you know the difference from the sounds of piston slap, spun rod, and valve ticking?
