Im trying to decide which would be worth my time more.

Sourcing a:KA24E or KA24DE

I am turbocharging it but was wondering if it is worth the pain of the DOHC swap. I am going to be mating it to a Toyota CT26 turbo.

So, is it worth my time to change the ECU + power steering etc for the DOHC?

Honestly its not that hard to do a DOHC swap but it depends on what you want to do. THere is going to be more aftermarket availability for the DOHC. I preffered to stay with my sohc because I wanted to keep my AC without fabbing up BS, or modifiying anything because im going to have to much time put into the car as a whole rather than just engine setup.

It also depends on what your gonna do. Turbo I assume? You gonna rebuild it make it performance or just turbo it? If your going to jsut turbo it then I would get a low mileage DOHC. But if your considering any aftermarket then it is applicable either way. What are your goals do you have a job to save money up or are you just thinking about what you want to do. Educate yourself more about the individual engines and then decide.

is there an engine already in the car? if there is and its running turbo that. if you are going for big power then personally i would go withthe dohc. with that toyota turbo though you wont be getting that high of numbers so i would just keep the single in there

I am planning on just turboing it for now.I was mostly wondering if the parts avaliable(sp) for the de are more out there and cheaper also would there be any major gains in power?
