How about DP engine degreaser? Eco friendly and made for cleaning stuff under the hood.ImStricken wrote:oven cleaner, wd-40, simple green, etc.
i woudnt touch electrical or plastic components with anything other than something like simple green. simple green is also known as the 'THING' to use to clean brake caliper pistons. it doesnt harm the rubber seals for the caliper pistons, so i dont see it causing harm to plastics in the engine bay.
yes, simple green is great on rubber. that's why its used by everyone when cleaning brake calipers. (brake calipers have rubber hoses, rubber seals, and its absolutely CRUCIAL to not use products that will regrade rubber.)Jostudly wrote:I will try the Simple Green hopefully it will not fade or damage the plastic. Can this be used on the rubber hoses as well?
