I have an oil leak, I'm going to use dye to pinpoint the leak, and then seal it.

But how do I actually seal the leak? What do the mechanics use?

Also, how do I know when it's the oil pan that's bad? And not just a normal leakage somewhere?

Would it be safe to use this product? http://www.cotronics.com/vo/cotr/rm_adhesive.htm

Or do I have to do soddering and welding type stuff?

Honestly, most of those "leak ender" products don't really work. Even if they do, it is normally a temporary fix. Your best bet is to find the leak, then do a teardown to it and replace the gasket.

depends on were the leak is coming from, but i can honestly say i dont see anywere on the engine you could use that were you wouldnt be MUCH better off using IE: a new gasket, seal, etc...

Hm, alright thanks guys. I'll find out where the leak is coming from first, then I'll repost.
