I replaced my fuel injectors on my 90 240sx (ka24e) today. They were a used set of injectors. I followed the DIY fuel injector install that can be found in the archives. After replacing the injectors, i put everything back and started it up. The engine was sputtering, shaking violently. Sounds as if it was misfiring and not all the cylinders were firing up. The idle was very low as well, around 500 rpm. I also tried wiggling the injectors and it didn't make a difference. What could be the problem, please help.

THanks!

The used injectors may be defective. Where the plastic tips in good shape on them?

3 out of the 4 injectors had cracked plastic tips because the sender failed to pack it properly. Those plastic tips actually make a difference? i thought they were just covers. Anything else i should check out before putting back the old ones?? Was there anything that needed to be done with the fuel pressure before starting the car up ??

Your injectors are junk. Those tips control flow/pattern. No you just cylce the key a couple times to allow the system to build pressure then fire it up. If you didnt do that it wouldnt make much of a difference except your crank time would have been longer. But once it started running you wouldnt have any run problems as a result of not doing it.

Man I would go back and try to get some new injectors from whoever you ordered them from. If they failed to pack them properly they should replace them no charge.
