With the recent news about uncontrolled runaway, I got to wondering what I could do if my 2006 M35X with a keyless ignition switch experienced sudden acceleration as I (or my wife) was driving it down the road. With a keyed switch I could simply turn the key off, but when I tried pushing the button while driving down the road, nothing happened. Dealer doesn't know what to recommend either. Any thoughts other than slipping it into neutral and watching the tach wind up?

Install a toggle switch in series with injector fuse to kill fuel. Great secret theft protection. Most trained drivers just put it in neutral and let it hit rev limiter.

Downshift and enjoy the ride, in my Altima you need to hold it for 4 seconds for it to shutdown.
