A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Whenever I turn my car on, put it in drive and then turn the AC on, I get this weird rumbling/ trembling noise under the hood. As soon as I turn the AC off it goes away and comes back when I turn the AC on again. It will go away when I start driving but as soon as I come to a stop it starts up again. I took it to a mechanic and they told me that the rear motor mount was fudged. They said it needed to be replaced because supposedly it was "cracked" and wasnt preventing the engine from rocking back and forth when the AC is on and that's what was making the noise. I got it replaced but it's still doing it and sometimes the noise is louder than before. Thoughts?

Since I don't want to start a new thread (sorry for my lack of an answer) I would like to ask my AC based questions here.

I have a '08 Nissan Sentra and whenever I turn on the AC it squeels like crazy. Loud, stuttering, squeeling. If this a fan issue? I'd like to know, I am sure it's covered in my warranty but I thought I'd ask.

Also, to give you a bit of an answer, I had a broken motor mount in my 2000 Nissan Altima and whenever I turned on the AC the engine would shiver a little but it would go away. You could have another broken mount or maybe the AC isn't seated correctly (unbalanced in some manner) causing it to shake hard.

It's not the hood is it? I had that issue a few years ago. It was pretty annoying.

Could be something to do with an A/C idle switch or something. Does it idle up and still shudder? If not, its probably bogging down and struggling to stay alive with that extra load on there.

I can't remember if those have a serpentine belt or if they are separate. Anyway, if they are separate, you probably just have to tighten that belt. If not, your AC compressor could be seizing up a bit.

The fans should be electric, and therefore shalt not squeal. They shalt not!!
