I can't pinpoint if I this is a NEW sound or not. From what I remember the engine was quite when turned off and just winded down nicely. But now I get a rattle or slight rumble while it winds down. Has anyone heard this? is it normal? *also, I did do some hard downshifting and driving over the weekend... so iono.

I appreciate the help guys!

How many miles are on your car? It could just be the suspension and motor mounts just settling into place. The cold weather will also cause some noises.

I have almost 5000 miles, it sounds ****ty to say the least.... and it has been getting colder out in l.a., but it was kind of a day and night thing because I noticed it right away.... I know it gave that same noise at start up when I pressed the button fast, but when I held it it was a smoother start up... any suggestions?

So the noise is ONLY after you turn the car off? And for how long does it make the noise? Is it just kindof as the motor winds down? What kind of noise is it? (clunk, rattle, whine, etc). Im just trying to get a feel for what exactly it is you're talking about.

it's a deep rattle for as long as the car is winding down... but I only remember the bad *** winding sound it made. so the rattling sounds new. and it's definitely not inside the cabin.

so its only for the brief amount of time that the motor is winding down after you shut the car off? is it a metallic rattle? does it sound rotational?

yes... it sounds duller than metalic and it's definitely NOT rotational... sounds like a bouncing sound... *LIke a loose intake (i have no aftermarket intake though)

i would check all of the hose connections and bolt down points on your factory air box and intake tube. its hard to tell when i cant quite hear the noise.

I get that rumble/rattle noisce when i start on the car and a few minutes after i warm up the engine. i start driving around 10-30mph and i hear rattling, vibrating sound coming from the engine as well.
