engine revs wont drop wtf!!!

so this just started happening the other day when im driving and about to shift to another gear when i clutch in the revs will not drop. if i shift at 3k it will stay at 3k, but if i shift at anyting higher it will drop but only to 2.5to 3k any ideas on why this is happening?

^ that, or the return spring could have broken somehow. I've never actually seen that happen before, though, save for carburetor systems :D

And for the odd story, a guy in the shop I used to work in had a mouse blocking the throttle plate on an older honda he worked on. Apparently it was making a nest in the airbox, and ate a hole in the filter, eventually getting sucked into the intake and jammed open the throttle body. Good thing the guy that drove it in didnt floor it, heh...that'd have been an awful smell, and probably taken a lot of work to fix.

its not my throttle cable cause it dosent stick. but when it starts doing it when i clutch in it feels really werid the clutch is pretty new and still grabs fine and doesnt slip any other ideas and it could be the return spring ill try that
