Hi,I am having my 2003 nissan altima 2.5s engine replaced. I was lucky enough to have an extended warranty, and now Nissan/Car Dealer is going to replace my engine with a brand new one.The questions are:- is this new engine under a new warranty, like for any new car? - actually I am not sure if Nissan is now giving the 100K one...- once the engine is replaced, to whom the old one belongs? - and if it's me, is it worth to sell it for parts/scrap?- what other concerns should i have with this engine replacement?- being a automatic transmission, does anything need to be done to it?- Do i need to go thru a "breakdown" period, like in a manual transmition?

Yes, i know, too many questions .... ,orry, but I would apreciate any answer/guidance you can provide. Thanks once againPhil

Most items changed under warranty belong to the dealership to hold for corporate review/return.

The engine may come pre-broken in, they just might tell you to be easy on it for the first couple hundred miles.

The engine will probably be covered under some kind of "replacement engine warranty" that will cover the new engine for the course of a year. If your extended warranty lasts longer then 1 year from replacement, then it should be covered under that.
