I'm very curious about some specifications concerning the total volume of a gutted 1989 240sx's engine compartment. I need to know the volumetric measurements in order to ascertain wether or not a Ford 302 would "fit" with minimal fuss. Obviously, as with any substantial engine swap/upgrade, there will be many items that need "beefing up," such as the firewall, front suspension, all new motor mounts, rear suspension, etc. I have recently acquired a Ford 302 small block and am obsessed with dropping it into my 240. Any and all specifications, tips, pointers, advice, and things I should make sure to make sure of would be greatly appreciated. I am not concerned about the consequences to the interior. It's already stripped out and awaiting my decision on engine. Also, this car won't be a street car, I'm building it up for the strip. Once again, thanks for the help.

O really? Hmmm... how interesting! Do you, per chance, know the name of that manufacturer?

I believe he also said that it has cost him over $12,000 so far, so unless you have that kinda money, might wanna steer towards another swap.

Well, as for the $12k, he's obviously hiring out the work, but I'm not going to do that. Basically, all I believe has to be done is: beef up the suspension (rear latter bars, stronger front springs, etc), weld in new motor mounts, custom the hood for clearance and breathability, appropriate transmission (and all required clearance and interior work), and a new rear differential. Also, since I'm not running any electronics (except for the electric fuel pump and pressure regulator and necessary components for the nitrous) I won't have any worries about any of the wiring junk and cash-consuming computer components. As of right now, my baby's mostly in pieces, but I'm slowly (as work schedule permits) puttin her back together!
