I am getting ready to pull the engine out of my Q.The only question I have is where do you normally mount the lifting eyes on the engine to lift it out with.None of the bolts really look ideal.

One lift point is right above Cyl.#8, has 3 plugs on it.

The other isn't there..........................kinda.

The bracket isn't, but the holes for the bracket are.

Search for posts by "Tangalora", lots of good reading and one of them will have details about the 2nd bracket.

I've seen people use a couple bolts in the holes for the knock sensor bolts as well.

Passenger-side bracket has the connectors for the injectors, ect, knock, and temp sensors on it.

Search for user "Tangalora" for the second bracket.

Browse the VH forum, a few pics/details are posted there as well.

You could buy the Nissan Front Engine Slinger: Part no. 10005-60u00. I wrote this part number down from Tangalora's post awhile back but never bought the slinger. I don't even know if Nissan still sells the part.

I ended up making my own slinger using some 3/8" steel rod and steel plate. It took me 2 hours to cut, weld and reinforce everything and it still flexed.

So I would recommend that you get a hold of the Nissan slinger if you can.

hello, I'm searching for information for pulling my q45 engine out the top by unbolting transmission and then pulling just the engine out the top, I'm searching to see if there is any info or to find someone who has done it. You where able to pull both engine and transmission out the top?

I did it twice before I found out that you couldnt. You have to take off the hood and you need a couple of real long extensions and a swivel socket to take off the bolts to the top of the transmission. Other than that its a piece of cake. It really helps if you have access to a lift.
