well i went today to remove my engine block from the engine bay, I put the engine hoist up nice and sturdy, and took the slave cylandar off the transmission, then unbolted all transmission bolts.. but now i dont know exactly how to get the motor out... i pulled, and pried, and it seems like something is still bolted in or something... anyone have any suggestions for things to check? (its out of gear.. the clutch isnt active (no slave)... the transmission should just come off... right?

I guess i didnt post enough info.. im trying to find out how to dis-connect the transmission from the engine block

I though i had removed all the bolts holding the bellhousing to the engine block, and still the engine will not seperate from the bellhousing.. i unbolted the starter, the bolts holding it in.. and i couldnt find anything else holding hte transmission/engine together..

and S3, stop being a smartass.. it doesnt make you look cool

Basically your question goes something like this...

I have a car, its red, how do I make it blue?

Thats too bad then, figure it out yourself.

Just check it over twice to see iff you got all the bolts out, it usually just slides right out... Does it even move out any? Did you disconnect it from the driveshaft yet?

are you sure you have all the bolts? if you do it should slide right off. there's one right at the top that most people seem to always miss.

once you get the drive shaft out, transmission mount off, the wires unpuged, and the shifter out with floor jack under the tale shaft to keep it off the ground it would be easier to pull them togeather. i read the post wrong earlier

i agree with pulling motor and trans together it is basicly a 10 min job trying to stab motor on the trans while it is still in the car will make you hate life

Well I dont know if pulling the transmission off is as hard as putting it on but i know how that is haha you are going to have to jack up the from of the engine so that the transmission will have a better angle to slide out of then it should pull right off. If you dont jack up the engine you are only going to be able to get the transmission pulled of a few inches before you hit firewall.

if your question is "why isn't my motor coming off my transmission?" double check that you got all the bolts, as stated before, there are some at the top that are hard to get to. If you unbolted everything, you prolly just need to get a real big pry bar to break that piece of **** off the splines, cause they can be a real *****. And its not gonna be any easier to get it back on. Aside from getting to the top bolts, there really isn't much difference in putting it in from under the car or pulling it with the motor. I've done it both ways.

yes like stated above, make sure you get all the bolts, there's two on top on each side that are a real PITA, make sure you get them. If you have to engine loose enough to where you can wiggle it a little then you will know when you get it loose from the transmission.
