Well my dad just bought another 94 maxima that was wrecked in the rear and now he wants to put that engine into the current 92 maxima that recently the tranny decided to take a poop on him. So this leads me to question since im the only person in my family that has any wrench turning know how my dad elected my to do the swap and i need to know if the engine come from the top through hood or through the bottom of the car. And if there is any engine differences between 92 and 94 model years (I doubt that there were any). Any more advice would be very helpfull for me.

either way you want to go through the bottom if you have a hoist is easier. the 92 to 94 max had 2 different engines available. one was belt driven the other was chain driven make sure you have the same one.
