What limits engine redline in our engines? I realize that redline is going to be different for all engines, but is there any deciding factor in our engines that won't let it rev higher? I saw a video from ka-t.org, and the guy who was dyno-ing his car took it up to a little over 7500 rpms... sweet sound.

7500 rpm is probably the limit before stock internal parts start breaking, or valves start floating.

so... if you build your engine while turboing it, what all is required to replace to make it rev higher?

you dont want to rev a stock internal KA past 7k. anthing beyond that is putting a laod of stress on your internals as the piston speeds are really high. i could go into mathmatical equations and stuff but im done wiht school for today. but anyways. 7500 isnto much of a problem if you have some stiffer valve springs and stuff. a n/a KA is way out of its power band above 7k. it ends around 6500. a turboed ka is a differnt story. the KA isnt meant to rev but if you really want to rev it high your going to need stronger internals.

I'm just thinking about when I go turbo. Start with stiffer valve springs, go with some lower compression pistons/ shorter stroke rods... Then what?
