Hey guys
I spun a bearing on my 1991 300zx Twin Turbo. Its making a very loud knocking noise. I need to rebuild my engine now and I'm on a very tight budget. If i were to buy everything from Z1 or ConceptZPerformance, it would cost me $1000+. I looked on google for a rebuild kit and I came across this:

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/N ... EK631.html

It is very cheap and I was wondering if anyone has heard of DNJ and if it is just crap.

I have a set of EP Racing fully coated TT pistons with wrist pins, OEM rings, and Clevite main/rod bearings for $400 shipped if you're interested. All standard sized

Unless you have access to a machine shop, be aware that even if you do it yourself, there's going to be some stuff that needs to be done to the shortblock that you aren't going to be able to do yourself properly. Make sure you do your research on all of the work that needs to be done to the block beyond just replacing the rods/pistons and gaskets.

ok guys, what I did was I bought a rebuild block. I already pulled the engine and took everything off of the old block. Now i just need to get the gasket kit, new timing belt, and head bolts. I have seen gasket kits for $100 but if I were to get that I would not trust the head gaskets so I would get OEM head gaskets from ConceptZPerformance. Is this a bad idea?

Get the full OEM gasket set, all of the cheap gaskets are CHEAP.

^^^^^^AGREED!!!

I was stupid and bought a cheap set off ebay, 4 months later I bought the OEM gaskets. Kick myself in the a** everytime I go cheap, just don't do it.

I also know this will get brought up, OEM for timing belt, DO NOT go cheap on that either. Also get new studs or Ramey studs for the pulley's. Nothing like having 20 year old studs breaking after you spent all that money and time.
