I plan on getting the IAP turbo kit for my 92 ka24de. I was wondering if I rebuild my engine with oem parts would it be reliable and safe. I only want to run the stage 1 kit which is at only 7lbs of boost.

Definitly man...If the rebuild is done well and all the tired parts are swapped out then you should be good to go. Make sure you take care of the oil pump. Also remember this, adding a turbo increases the heat produced under the hood and an front mount intercooler decreases the effiency of the radiator, thats two strikes against cooling which is a bad thing. Most people don't take that into account in the beginning. A turbo also heats up your oil...third strike. Hot water and hot oil is a bad thing if nothing is done to to fix it. I'm not saying it can't be run like this, we've had turbo's installed on here and run for years with everything remaining stock. I'm just giving you a heads up. Decreasing underhood temps will increase the power output of the motor all by itself. So little things like heat wrap, a real cold air intake and an oil cooler pay bigger dividends then some people believe they do.

Welcome to KAT and happy boosting. I'm online all the time at WDRacin for AIM or [email protected] if you have any other questions.
