engine rebuild questions

are nissan rod and main bearings color coded? i am new to the whole nissan thing-all my other motor work was done on hondas.just double checking.also are the sized?by clearance?

I don't think so. From reading the 240sx FSM about rebuilding the engine, it says the grades (sizes) for the bearings are stamped onto the crankshaft. I guess you just order that grade bearing if everything is within spec for that grade.

There are grades on the crank, you order based on that as he stated.

of couse if the crank journals are machined though the numbers on the crank mean nothing, you must measure and get the appropriate bearings.
