Engine Rebuild Question, Can I cheat right off the bat

Hey there, I have been reading a bit and I want to know a few things pertaining to my KA24DE and the rebuild that I'm going to do in about 12K miles (about 3 months). I have to order all of the parts for my rebuild before I get it done, and I was wondering if it would be to my advantage to buy the SOHC KA24E bottom end rebuild kit including the pistons and rods. I will be having a machine shop doing the rebuild so I was wondering if I should just hand them the KA24E rebuild kit and get myself a high-compression rebuilt KA. My main question is whether or not it will all just straight up fit. Thanks for your time.
