Hi everyone! I just finished my rebuild on a Ka24de (1991). It looks like i have an idle issue. I don't know whats wrong with it. I turn the car on just fine. The timing is good. But when i press on the gas it kinda dies then gets back up. Also the intake makes a popping sound like its back firing. Can anyone help me find the problem please?

Also, I removed my EGR valve, install a plug on my exhuast and cap the vacuum lines, so I'm not running emissions. But my other question is should i cap all the vacuum lines?

yes lines capped, sounds like a few things, could be timing, a rich lean condition, or some sort of failed sensor. Are you able to check any codes at all?

Actually my used to do that and it turned out that my intake cam was off a tooth, just double check that your timing is good.

Mine did that too when i first put it back together. Thought maybe a tooth off on timing? I was wrong. Base timing was off on distributor. I was at 10 degrees BTDC instead of 20 Degrees BTDC
