I'm planning on rebuilding my ka24e I got my new pistons rings and bearings in today. boring the block .020" over and machining the crank .010" over rod and main. I just have to pickup a gasket set and save up for machine work. But I was wondering if there was a special break in procedure for the ka or does it not matter once you seat the rings?

Break in with regular oil not synthetic so the rings seat, break in like any engine keep revs low for 1500 miles and then change oil and filter to what ever oil you want then. Happy motoring

I'm of the camp drive it like you stole it. If machined properly, the rings will seat in the first 50 miles. Change the oil at 100 miles and a few heat cycles, then drive it like you intend it to be driven.
