engine rattle

My 97 maxima has an engine rattle when I give it gas. I have tried every thing I know like use a higher octaine gas to the drip and plat plugs. This all has helped some but it still rattles.HELP:(

does it sound like engine ping[preignition] Or does it sound like something is loose??

It's a pinging sound. I only have 102,138 ml. on my car and not sure if it timeing or a vacum problem. The performance is still real good and my milage is around 30, no problem with power but i know this is not good for the engine. Thanks

check to see if you have any codes stored in the ecm,even if the light is not on. It may have a knock sensor code stored. meaning it has an open circuit. If it does replace the knock sensor and the subharness connected to it.
