so i was just wondering, what are some things to look for when buying an engine?

I think the ka in my 240 is ready for a rebuild, but i don't have the knowledge to do that yet, or the time. So i was thinking about buying a "good" engine from a guy and just swapping it, then learning on the one ill pull.

But what should i look for when i go and check out the motor?

I don't want to get ripped off as i have already spent around $3500 on a stock 240 lol

Thanks in advance!

its pretty standard to do a compression test before buying a motor. and i dont know anything about how to rig it up to do that if the motor aint in a car.

Do a leak down test, if the engine isnt in the car. If its in the car do a compression test
