engine question

my engine check is on and the only problem i see is that my speedometer is off like it will say im going 80 but actaully 65. ahaha anyways i was wondering if that makes the light goes on.

I think its 2 problems.

For the check engine light do the normal Hard Reset. Unplug the negative battery terminal, turn the car to the on position and wait for like 10 minutes. Then plug the negative terminal back on and start the car in neutral and let it IDLE for about 15 mins......if ya still get the check engine light its fix-it shop time.

As for the Speedo thing, I think that maybe your speedo cable or transmission pick up may be bad. Replace that and you should be good to go. If this doesnt work.....Fix-it shop once again. Good Luck

Why not just search? Ive fiund CEL codes by searching a few times so I know it can be done....

all you have to do is take off the kick panel in the passenger side foot well, unbolt the ecm, and twist the flat head screw near the LED fully clockwise then count the number of blinks from the light. It will be a 2 digit number, with each digit distinguished by a different speed blink. There is a list of what the codes mean in the FAQ section of 240sx.orgIf its 32 IIRC thats egr, check the small L shaped tube between the EGR and PAIR valve for cracks in the bend. (FSM has pictures descriptions and a diagram showing the locations of all emissions controls)

To get rid of that light you can use this special trick:
