Engine Problems

What sup everybody..

i have a 1991 240sx KA 16va..

Everytime my engine is cold and i start it up, it turn off on me.. If the engine is on for at least 3 too 4 mins, it start to shake, and the engine power gose down... its not the timeing chain alrady got that check out... if the car been run and engine still hot i got no problem with it, it set when i smash on the ride once it hit around 3 gear(automatic) instead of increasing the power it feels like the engine slows down..

i have the same problems and once my enigne warmes up after 3 trys of trying to run, and in those 3 trys my car shakes and dies, after when the engine warms up.. all my problems go away... I been thinking it may be the coolant temp sensor.

I"m about to get a new one and replace mine soon its only like 16 bucks.. so if it works for me i'll let you know and then I would suggest you try the same... becasue it may the coolant temp sensor.

The same thing happens to me sometimes. I just start it up again and rev the engine a couple times and its fine. If I'm letting it sit while it's running for a while I just occasionally rev the engine.

could be a problem with the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve)

I hardy doubt that... I replaced my IACV and plus i tried 3 differet ones and it did not fix my problem...

it's gotta be the coolant temp sensor, or the cold start injector

is that what gose connetec to the intake... if it is, i did remove it to install my intake that didnt fit cuzz of the crash, then i put the stock intake back on..

If your talking about the system that connects to the side of the air box where the filter is that is the AVI. As long as you plugged the vacume lines and exhaust you should be fine without it.

thanx bro... well i gotta change the gasket, spar plug seal(oil all over the spark plug) and the spark plugs.. maybe then it should run fine, if not.. i will look foward into the sr20det, or a 1983 monte carlos...
