Engine problems... help!

This actually concerns my other car, not my 240 but seeing as how you are all so knowledgable I figure maybe someone might be able to help me... all the people on that nasty 3SI forum dont know anything

I have a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000gt SL with 60k miles on it.. recently I noticed the engine has been running differently, but not in a good way. I thought maybe one of you has had experience with these cars and could help me in diagnosing the problem. I'll start with the symptoms.

- surging idle- inconsistent power... sometimes when I step on the gas to merge with traffic the power just isnt there, its like the car is only running on half the cylinders and struggles to reach redline-idle will sometimes drop when coming to a stop and the engine will die-somewhere from inside the engine bay there is a whistling or hissing noise

Someone please shed some light on my problem, ive tried other forums but nobody wants to give me a break

sounds like a big time vacuum leak. spray around vaccum likes with a can of carb cleaner. stay away from exhaust manifolds!

Vacuum line most definately.
