I recently installed a new stereo, speakers, and amp. When I have tried to start my car, it would start, sound labored and then stop with the "Service Engine Soon" light on. This happened twice in a row. I don't have a lot of experience or knowledge regarding car stuff and don't know where to begin in trying to figure out what is wrong. Where do I begin?

Ok. Update. I got the car running somewhat and was able to drive it to an Autozone. Here are the codes it triggered:

P2138 Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
P2122 Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 1 Circuit Low Output

Whenever I start the car, I have to press on the gas for a little bit so it won't stall again. Also, the car will no longer go above 2500 rpm. Autozone is recommending replacing the accelerator pedal position sensor. Will it be as simple as that? or did I do something wrong when installing the amp?

At a loss here, guys.

Did you hack any wires from the factory harness? Sounds like you may have hacked the wrong wire or cut a wire by accident. Go through all the steps you took to install the stereo and make sure all the wires are connected correctly and you didn't cut a wire by accident.

Could have a bad amp, backfeed from the amp could also cause this try a directional diode on the power side. accletrator pots usually read 1.0 volt to 5 volts can usually check the pot by ohms on a decent meter
