:help My engine is malfunctioning when hot, but (still) drives. It just hesitates terribly.

it does that between 1000rpm and 2000rpm,

it hesitates to when i accelerate with a kick down, it is like if the coil pack or injector is cutting one cylinder i sent that on acceleration.

when its rainning its more bad, i dont understand because theres no spark plug wired, 6 coil pack on 6 ngk platinum,

I try in the first time changing the plug it does anything,

oh yes almost forgot that the rpm going is unstable on idle sometime it run at 600rpm and sometime going up to 1000rpm .

Did you have this problem before

Having similar problems. Check threads on ON-line Infiniti mechanic by using search at the bottom. Causes could be, MAF, CPS. Good Luck!

Marc, it is hard to understand your message.

If your car is running rich (black smoke, and the check engine light comes on), it does sound like the MAF

If it runs smothly, above 2,000 RPM's, then It sounds like a dirty throttlebody problem.

Try cleaning the throttle butterfly, and as much of the intake, as you can. Use the whole can of Fuel Injector cleaner, and a whole roll of paper towels. A toothbrush works good, for getting the carbon off.

If it misses all the time, it sounds like a Fuel Injector, or spark plug problem.

It soulns like you replaced the plugs. You might want to check the injectors.

Do you know how to check for codes, on the ECU?

Hi Jeff

There is no black smoke and the check engine light does not come on

maybe like you say its a trottlebody problem i will try to clean that butterfly whit a cleaner injector

so if i understand well that could fix my problem for my unstable 600rpm-1000rpm on idle

but for my engine hesitation between 1000rpm-2000rpm and could it be the same for the acceleration

could it be a defect coil pack or a dirty injector

P.s i allways put premium gas

and i dont know how to check for code on the ECU

Thanks for your help Jeff

Excuse my english it is not so good

Marc.r If you check the above threads(past post) there is info on how to check the ECU, where it is, what the different codes mean, and how to read the codes. It's in the kick panel on the passenger side front. It takes a little time to research but it's well, well worth it. Print them up so you have a refence when you are working on your car. The Factory serivce manuals have great diagnostic test as well as get specific to the MAF, CAS, Coils, Injectors etc......Great stuff on changing plugs and cleaning everything can all be found here..

I'm in the process of just trying to pull the ECU out as it is stuck like a rock and won't budge. I don't think mine has ever been removed before!
