Engine problem, please help...

ok, I was coming home and floored first and geared and i could feel my engine or my car choking and my boost gauge was bouncing from 10 to 13 psi. any reason why it does this? If i slowly floor it to 10 psi its ok but once it goes pass that my engine chokes or shakes a popping sound from exhaust comes on. when my engine is cool my boost sits at 17 or `18 vacuum. im thinking am i overboosting or vacuum leaks?

i'm a complete newbie to turbochared engines. thats why i'm reading Maximum Boost as I write this.

But sounds like your fuel system is too weak. you need a better fuel pump for better fuel delivery. check it out.
