:ohno:
Hello, I have a 1996 ka24de. Just rebuilt the engine and already put it in the car. I was told I needed to prime the oil pump. How would I go about doing that?

you can unplug the distributor and crank it over for about 30 seconds, or you can pull the fuel pump fuse and crank it over for about 30 seconds

Sweet! Thank you! This is my 1st time doing this on my own. And I still have to set timing once I get that going. I'll post pics when I can

Do i have to pull off the valve cover to make sure oil is getting to the top of the head?

nope, but you can if you really want to. It'll be a mess. If you cleaned the head prior to installation then you should be able to look through the oil cap and see pooled oil in the head after you crank it.
