WHAT ENGINE DOES EVERYONE PREFER? THE CHOICE IS RB20DET OR RB25DET. THE RB26DETT IS OUT OF THE BUDGET FOR MOST PEOPLE THAT IS WHY IT IS EXCLUDED. OHH AN WHAT IS THE REASON YOU CHOSE YOUR ENGINE?

I would go rb25 because there is more stuff known about them and it has more displacement. Better engine i believe

I CHOOSE RB20DET BECAUSE OF ITS TORQUEY NATURE AND IT SEEMS TO ME IT HAS A HIGHER POTENIAL FOR GREATNESS. AND I LIKE TO BE A PAIN IN THE BUTT AND BE DIFFERENT! :)

I chose the RB because it is cheap. At first I was going to turbo my KA. Too much needed to be done. It would need a full rebuild with the forged pistons yadda yadda. Then the kit itself. So I looked at swaps. Alot fo people say start with the RB25, but its entry price is more. I only want 300whp, easily achievable on the RB20. But since I am not looking to maek that power right away, the 20's cheaper entry price got me hooked. NOw if i had more money to spend, I would have naturally went RB25

i got a RB25 even though its more expensive because the extra capacity makes the hassle of fitment worth it. i'd choose an SR over an RB20 but more for weight balance than anything in an S13.

I choose the RB25 because I am used to torquier engines (which the 25 is), I like inline 6's, it has 250hp stock, weight isnt an issue to me and it's not even much of a difference. Finally, I dont have outrageous plans and to extract 250-300hp from an RB25 I wont have to lean on it nearly as hard, hence it'll last me a lot longer :) This car is a daily driver so reliability is important to me.

its all about the rb20 torquier than the SR and makes good power even if it is heavier than the sr

well i Got a RB20 now and i chose it over a RB25 because its cheaper..thats mainly the reason. And the install is ezier cus u dont neccesarily hav eto get a custom driveshaft, the bad thing is there isnt as many performance parts out there for the RB20, the RB25 has ezier performance parts to find IMO.

OK ON THE POINT OF THE PARTS, YOUR CAN SWAP MOST OF THE PARTS FROM THE RB25 ONTO THE RB20 WITH LITTLE OR NO MODIFICATIONS.

if you read the original post it says excluding the rb26 and the vote is between rb20 and rb25.

i would easily choose an RB25, both are great motors, but the 25 has much more potential in the long run, although it all depends on how far u want to take the motor as well, if you're looking for 4oowhp or higher, def the 25, if you want about 3oo or maybe a lil more/less then the 2o would suite just fine, also, 25s parts ar easier to find

Well I chose the 25 because I never considered the 20 also because Grumpy had it sitting in his garage looking out of place all alone on the floor. on a side note every time I go to Mckinneys i try to talk them into giveing me one of the 26's but it never works so I will stick to the 25.
