My 07 G35 6MT with 47K miles started pinging recently as I climbing WV hilly I 64, even outside temperature is mild, say 40,50, and the car carries nothing else but myself. I has switched from regular 87( it's never pinged in FL with 87 since brand new) to 93 premium, more than two full tanks later it still pings. Had Advance auto parts looked for any error code, found nothing, meaning knock sensor was good.

Tried to pull out spark plugs last weekend to look at. As I checked the FSM

fsm-list-for-your-g-t525067.html I found that it said

Cold type spark plug is suitable when spark plug knock occurs with standard type spark plug under conditions
such as:
Extended highway driving
Frequent high engine revolution

Cold type: NGK PLFR6A-11

The plugs have never been changed yet, I bet they are normal type, not cold type. I have brought 6 of cold types from Advance auto parts and to change them over this weekend.

I'll report back as whether it helps or not.

You should not need plugs at 47k miles. They are good for over 100k miles.
My G35 plugs at 106k miles

My 06 G35 never pinged using 87 octane nor does my current G37. Here in NJ I purchase my gas at WaWA as it is usually the cheapest and my G37 runs fine on it.
Perhaps you went from a constant summer blend in Florida to a winter blend in WV? Also check the sticker on the pump where you fill up. There is a difference in 10% ethanol and 15% ethanol blend.
When I travel I only purchase gas at high volume truck stops.

Yeah, 47k is low to have this issue from spark plugs. I have 90k on the sedan and 70k on my coupe with no issues. I would suggest resetting the ECU and let it relearn.

I changed all of them over last weekend. Here they go.

from left to right are # 1 to 6, #1, 3 and 5 are on passenger side, being 1 in the front, 3 the middle, and 5 the rear that is closest to the firewall, then 2,4 and 6 on the driver side, being 2 the front, 4 the middle and 6 closest to the firewall.
it looks to me that 1, 3 and 4 are normal, but 2 and 6 are over heated, let 's take a close look. 1 is on the left, 2 on the right

#2 the second to the left, 3 and 4 next to it on the right

according to Infiniti FSM, they are standard type. The first a few miles on a flat interstate it knocked worse but the new 200 miles seemed ok, as climbing up the mountain with between 60 and 70 mph, it felt improved, but I didn't push it hard though.

I'll give it a bit more time to adjust itself. I hope I don't have to reset the ECU.

ECU will adjust. There is a way to force a ECU reset and it should be listed in the FAQ. I can simply connect my Cobb and reset from there.

Yes, it's in the FSM and there is an instruction of how to check the timing with timing gun. I'm going to check the timing this week end before resetting.
