So, after I blew my turbo I decided that it was time to get going on cleaning up my engine. I needed a new clutch, to fix my exhaust leak, redo the rear main oil seal, and tighten my turbo gasket. Instead od dropping the transmission and trying to reach all over the engine to get to the turbo lines I decided to just pull the engine.

It took me and a few friends about 2 hours to get the engine on the ground and disconnected from the transmission.

here:

then we took the clutch off and got it changed out, and then took the itty bitty ca t25 off.

After I pulled the exhaust system/ headers to put the new gaskets on, and do the turbo gasket for the sr turbo.

At this point, the engine is ready to go back in as soon as I get the oil line on and an oil filter.

sexy, I know

Now I had to stop, to go to work. Im waiting till friday to put that puppy back in. till then, lonely car is lonely.

Well thats it for now. Let me know what you think.

it looks like a CXRacing or equivelant manifold, which is what im running.. its noice! lol

as for pulling the engine..i'll probably clean some s*** up next year when i pull it out to replace the clutch..i think it'll just be WAY easier with the engine out lol

y aim doing the same, if the motor/transmission lasts this year at the track next winter ill pull it and do a partial rebuild with it out. Just makes more sense, if it last till next winter...

looks solid. might want to get you some degreaser and clean that engine up a bit so that catching leaks and other issues might be easier on yourself.

its easy enough with the motor out

while its out replace any crunchy water hoses especially the ones under the intake plenum!

have u ever done th timing belt?

these are all things that are MUCH easier when the engine is out!

and if u get bored paint ur cam covers matt black ...it looks hot!

Thanks for the input guys.

Well I ended up putting the engine back in today. I have a few wires that I have no idea where they go, so ill be asking when I figure it out.

I still have to get my new oil line bent, and figure out a way to get the intake hose mounted on the turbo, but besides that its all ready to go.

Oh, and I need to put the driveshaft in. but thats not a big deal. More pics tomorrow.
