Engine Oil

Hey guys just wondering what kind of Engine oil should i place into the car? I wanted to put in 10W-40 high mileage but is there a certain brand i should aim for? thanks

Ive always been a Pennzoil guy using 10/30 ,But any name brand should be fine as long as you change it every 3k/90 days religiously !!!

I'm a believer in synthetic oils. I've mostly used Mobil1 10w30. I've noticed over the years it has helped in terms of better mileage than a conventional oil.

difference between 10 40 and 10 30? my motor is kind of noisy

The difference basically is viscosity. The 10w30 is slightly freer flowing then a 10w40. Try a synthetic oil, it might quiet things down.

i changed my oil the other day...it was pricey but since i had some extra autozone rewards points i went ahead and got straight 40 royal purple and a K&N performance gold filter...usually i just run a fram and mobile 1 10w30...however with it being summertime i decided to go with something heavier...i wanted straight 30 but they didnt carry it and i havent noticed much of a difference...in fact my car seems to be running slightly better but that could either be because of the fresh oil or the royal purple...
