aite guys ... first off, It's a KA-T. mods on the engine are; t28, 370cc injectors, N62 mafs and tune with apexi safc.

so after i put the N62 mafs in, i start playing with the safc. Today I checked the dip stick and the oil drip like water ..... and it smell like gasoline....

does that mean I blew my head gasket or something?

T_____T

you need new piston rings now

blow by is the air-fuel mix blowing by your piston rings and in to the crankcase

.........uhhhhhhhh..............small amounts of oil passing by your piston rings(due to wear and a pressurized crankcase), being burnt in your combustion chamber, it may allow gasoline to leak past your rings and into your oil

might as well check all your bearings while you have the rotating assembly out, and a head gasket wouldnt be a bad idea either

before you park your car because we on the forums told you to i would check your compression at the least. Or do a leakdown test that will really tell you what the condition of the engine is.

your oil maybe gasy, but change it out and see if it comes back. Maybe you were just running really rich for a while when u were tuning the SAFC.

do you know what a compression and leakdown test is? If not, http://www.google.com will tell you

Nice esto, I agree always check compression, if it is bad then its time for a rebuild or replacement.

Also a very common issue is a fuel injector oring failure..sometimes gets pinched and leaks. With fuel rail off turn key to acc, if any fuel squirts through oring fail.

Just because his oil smells like gas does not mean the engine is bad..... Good god.

If he runs rich, Guess what... Oils going to have some gas in it. It could be a NUMBER of things that are very simple.

Definatly a leakdown test. Like was said, A pig rich AF mixture is going to wash the cylinder walls down and you will have gas in the oil.

okay I just finished the compression/leakdown test anddd none of them leak but cyl 1 only get 135psi max ... the rest are between 150-159psi. .... so does that mean i still should change piston ring or no??? will it be okay to drive around like that?

If you're getting blow by your valve cover vent tube (forgot the name) will be putting out a lot of oil into your catch can if you have one or wherever else its connected to. 135 is pretty low and only gets worse with time, especially with boost. If this is what's causing gas in the oil I'd be a little afraid of losing lubrication in vital places.

Put a couple of drops of oil in there and see if it goes up, If it does the rings are worn.

piston rings, if you blew the head gasket youd either be burning antifreeze, leaking oil out, leaking antifreeze out, or in the pontiac sunfires case, all 3. its the rings sorry to say.

I wouldnt, your going to be sending gas into your oil, then the gas gets into the bearings. You might just be making a bigger problem later on down the line.

I've had the same exact thing happen to me when I turbocharged my KA. Except I was running 555cc's, using a BikiROM, and trying to use a SAFC and that made my car pretty much dump a ton of fuel into my cylinders.

Your rings are shot. When I took mine out, they were pretty worn and my oil just absolutely reaked of oil. At that point, I knew my motor was ready for a rebuild.

It's not hard, but it's also not the easiest thing to do in the world. Anything worth having takes work and I bet if you rebuild that motor and clean it up really nice, you'll have a brand new KA that will kick some serious a**. When I put my new rings in, my compression on all 4 cylinders was over 200psi. I was pretty happy when I saw that and my car had an amazing response after that rebuild.

you could just have a leaky injectors or something...like an injector O-ring going out...any ecu codes?

do a compression check and leakdown test...if compression or the latter are bad...rebuild time

my oil always smells like gas a little bit...Im running a real motor though, not a KA-T

bwwwwaaaahahahahahahahahaha

SR is always > KA-T

booooyaaa
