For a 300zx 1996 TT

What is the oil pressure i'm supposed to have when the car is on idle and when i'm reving ?

Is there a gauge or digits indicators to replace the original one ?

Is it normal that the mirror and rear defoggers get's on when I start the car ?

Thanks, Phil

(By the way, how I post some pictures on a topic ?)

Get familiar with a valuable tool located here:
http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

From the drop-down select "Engine Lubrication & Cooling System"

Go to page #5 of section LC and you will find your answer :woot:

I hope this helps.

it should be 14 psi at idle, and as you drive it gets higher

stock gauge and sender and known to get less accurate with age you can hook up a manual gauge int he oil sender port to verify the pressure

My stock gauge used to read about 10, and sometimes it would fluctuate a lot and drop to 0. Now it sits at zero 100% of the time, even after I changed my oil pressure sending unit.

I checked it with a manual gauge and it's around 20 at idle, I checked when it was probably 90% warmed up.

Basically, don't trust the factory gauge.

when i first crank my car in the morning it will peak at about 60psi and work its way down as it warms up

but as evil said anything above 14psi should be fine at idle

defog shouldn't come on unless switched on, might be a bad or sticking switch
