My rear main oil seal has a leak, not sure how bad it is, but it leaks. Can some of that engine oil get on the flywheel? The reason I ask because about 2.5 years ago my act street clutch would engage when the pedal is towards the middle. After about 10000 miles the clutch would engage at random spots throught the pedal travel mostly between from middle to top. So I decided to change the rubber clutch hose with those steal breaded one and I did the clutch line mod where you bend the hard line directly to the hose and I flush/bleed the system (no air). This did help with the random engagement, but now the clutch engages when the pedal is almost all the way out. Recently I notice that the diffrence between engaged (pedal all the way out) and disengaged is only about 2-3 inch or so of pedal travel, not sure this normal. The clutch does not grab like it did before, dont know if maybe oil from the rear seal might be causing this. Any input is appreciated.I have 96 240sx.

The clutch is prob not engaging correctly because the oil got on the friction face of the flywheel. You really dont want any sort of oil what so ever on that friction plate...

So if you have a big enough leak on the rear seal it could get on the flywheel?
