i tested the compression on my s14's KA and she read 160-165-160-160 (w/ 136k miles). But when i went and pulled the plugs, there was engine oil coating the threads of the plugs and on the top-side (above the threads) of the plugs, there was NO oil on the electrode part. The plugs looked white in color on the ends, indicating they are too hot, or possibly an engine cooling issue. The engine has burned oil in the past (would puff smoke out the exhaust when idling), but i dont understand why there would be oil on the top-side of the plugs and on the plug-threads. any help would be much appreciated - i want to make sure my engine is ready before i go forced induction

check your inner valve cover gasket(the 1 that covers the area around the plug holes), when its too old it starts leaking, and well.....it leaks into the spark plugs.
