Hi,I just got an 05 pathfinder and was wondering if the engine oil gauge in the speedometer is supposed to be in the low side when the car is stopped in an idle and when the car is cruising or moving the needle would be in the middle part of the gauge? is something wrong with my car or is that normal? Thanks so much!!!

im pretty sure that gauge affects oil temperature or pressure so your in the clear if its 0 when the engines off

Not familiar with the actual gauge in the cluster. Does it have actual numbers on it, or is it just one of those low-medium-high guages?Regardless, the pressure should read on the low side in idle at normal operating temperatures, and then go back up under load or when you rev the engine. If it stays low, then it may or may not be a problem. I had similar issues with a gauge in another vehicle, and it turned out to be the sending unit that was the problem. The sending unit was leaking a bit, so it always showed low pressure. It was a quick fix, as it turned out. That may be the first place to look.

i never seen it on the pathfinder but i know my dads old blazer had a digital oil gauge and the same thing with u wen car was in idle or stopped it would say low oil but when driving or with ur foot on the gas it would go into normal , so im sure ur pathfinder is good bc the blazer never gave him a problem
