Engine Oil for Nissan 1995

Hello Members,

I own a 1995 Nissan-Datsun 200SX car with about 130K miles on it. I live in Southeaster Virginia. I bought my car in July 2009 from my freind. Typically, the engine oil was changed by a auto shop when doing inspection and repairs. The engine oil needs refilling now. I purchased Pennzoil SAE 5W-20 at Autozone today. Is this the right choice? As far as I know, no synthetic oil has been used before.

Welcome to Nico Hop !

If you are just topping the oil off, mixing in 5w-20 with whats in there will work just fine. I prefer to run a conventional 10w-30 (Mobil Clean 5000 to be exact) in my '95 Nissan engine. I would suggest a 10w-30 in the summer and a 5w-30 in the winter(colder) months.

So to top it off, what you bought is fine. When its time for an oil change, throw some 10w-30 in it
