Hi. I noticed a noise almost since the car was almost new .When the car idles there is some noise from the engine. I have 30,000 miles in 14 months of use but I have always used synthetic oil and 5w-30 which is the recommended viscosity. The noise does go away as I accelerate or when I first start it in the morning. It goes on at very low revs like 600-800 RPMs. My warranty expires in 5,000 miles so I better take it to the dealer in case is something serious. But first I want to be sure that is a manufactureres problem and not me. I don't race the engine and change the mobil 1 synthetic every 5,000 miles since I bought the car brand new.

Sounds like you've been keeping proper maintenance and everything... can you be more specific about the noise?

I'd take it to the dealer regardless. If you haven't abused the vehicle, there's really no reason for it to be behaving out of the ordinary.

Are you sure it's not your transmission and that it is indeed the engine making the noise at idle? Best way to check that is to let your car idle and shift to neutral and see if the sound changes.

What do you mean by some noise? Can you be more specific? Does the car act funny...etc?

I have the same problem as you. It happens randomly though. I don't abuse the car either and my car is at 16,000 miles and i had it for a year. It depends, Where do you get your oil done at could be a problem or its a problem from your engine. I have the same car you have and it was shaking the car a little bit the other day.

I wouldn't worry too much unless its a big problem, BTW you're warranty for bumper2bumper expires at 36,000 miles but engine, transmission, and axle's go up until 60,000 miles.

If its a ticking sound its just our loudass fuel injectors.
