My first guess would be a crappy overrunning clutch on your alternator. Try removing the drive belt and see if the noise stops.

Hi VStar650CL,

Thanks so much for your reply. I just checked the oil and the oil level was low. After adding 1 liter, the knocking noise has gone but the other one which you mentioned from alternator is still there. I uploaded another video, the noise seems to come from either alternator or ac compressor.

Thanks again.

You're most welcome. Easy to isolate compressor noise, just turn it on and off and see if the noise changes. Depending whether it's in the clutch or the compressor itself, it will either quit or change in some way when the compressor runs. If it's the alternator or some other rotating component, then messing with the A/C won't change anything.

I had similar issue on my 2010 not this noisy though, it was coming from burnt clutch due to age.
You could eliminate Alternator bearing noise easily by placing chassis ear/stethoscope or tip of flat screwdriver and listen carefully.
Hope it helps...

Thank you for all the replies. I went in a shop and got the car checked, the noise is from AC compressor :chuckle:
I guess it is the time to test my DIY skills!

Thanks again and please take care.
