whats up nicoclub, its been a while

i have a 2005 6mt g35 sedan that has 42300 miles on it and was supposed to have an oil change at 41500.

i started noticing the noise while driving it, however it started out not being nearly as bad as it sounds.

it was around 20 degrees when i turned my car on, drove out of the parking lot, and i hadnt been driving that long when i noticed a noise that would happen in between shifts 2500-3000 rpm.

the next day, i drove to work, same noise between shifts, drove to walmart on the way home from work, the oil looked a little low so i put some mobil 1 5w30 synthetic in it and drove home.

the next day after that, i turn my car on, let it warm up, drive around the block in my neighborhood, didnt get above 4500-5000 rpm and the noise started to sound like it does in the video.

this is shot after a cold start with an outside temp of about 30 degrees. when i press the grass i get a knocking noise that is definitely coming from the engine but i'm not sure what is causing it. it doesnt shake the car really hard; it only makes that noise. i dont know if it has lost any power or not since i parked it after the noise got louder.

does anyone know what it might be?

Can't tell too well from the audio in your clip, but have you checked your belts?

My drive belts tend to go whenever I jump on the throttle in cold - and especially wet and cold -conditions. I hear a clicking in your video that reminds me of the noise a partially shredded belt makes while hitting other parts in the engine bay

its more of a knocking than a click. you can feel it if you just lay your hand on the plenum

How often do you check your oil?

On my 06 G35 6m the L mark on the dipstick was 2 quarts low. The oil should be checked with the vehicle on a level surface after sitting and not running for 20 minutes to get an accurate dipstick reading. My 06 used oil from the day I bought it. I failed the oil consumption test but it used a quart every 2k miles or so. I kept a very close watch on the oil consumption and added 1/2 to 1 quart when needed. I checked my oil every week.
I traded it in just shy of 172k miles and the engine still ran like new

If you ever ran very low or out of oil you could possibly have engine damage.
You might want to consider having an Infiniti dealer check it out.

Can't really tell but it almost sounds like a rattle from a heat shield or something loose that is external to the block.
