Engine noise

After driving for a while. I noticed this noise. Is it normal? It is 2011 g37xs with 3000 miles

I can't reproduce the noise when cold start, then rev to 3000 rpm a few times. The noise only happens after driving for a while.

Sounds like an exhaust leak and possible lifters ticking. Take it to the dealership.

had my oil change at the dealer In Dec 2011. I asked them to use Syn, tech told me it was mobil 1. This noise only comes up after driving for a while, not cold start, at that time, it should have enough lub. If there is exhaust leak, should I hear it also starting the engine? And the oil level is fine, no leaking, no burning

Its possible that if its an exhaust leak that it only occurs after it warms up and things expand.

sorry im lat had to do a brake job.. okay so is it a leak or a lifter ? sound like lifters but is a video need hands on bro.. only when cold sound like it leak.. but that video got me fooled !!

Thanks, man. Here is some update

After driving for a while to reproduce the noise which can only be heard at idle, I restart the engine, the noise is gone. Someone said it was VVEL knocking, there is a TSB for it to update ECU/ECM, but that was for 2008 model. Mine is 2011.

Take your car to the dealership ASAP so they can isolate the noise and fix the problem. You also want to have paper trail implemented with the dealership as well----keep a copy of the service worksheet for yourself too.

I have the same noise on my 2008. I've heard it could be a number of things. Purge valve\EGR, Lifters, cam buckets, injectors, low oil (my oil level is fine). Spoke to the dealer and said if it gets louder to bring it in right away, otherwise keep driving it until the next oil change.

Since the OP bailed on this, I'll take it over. Car goes in tomorrow for the techs to diagnose what that noise is. My money is on "It's Normal"
