engine noise

hey guys fairly new here just got my self my first s13 coupe iv had the car for a week now and recently noticed a noise it started making. not to sure its from the block but a friend told me it could be the lifters but when the engine is on it makes a clicking noise almost if like a penny were in there bouncing around. anyone got any suggestions?? ka24 block

yea its probably coming from the head and its probably lifters. most KA's do that.

the cheapest way to pin point the noise is to first start ur car.get a long piecce of would, or a screw driver, then put one end on then valve cover and the other to ur ear and listen... or use a stethoscope

pull your valve cover more than likely your timing chain guide snaped so its bouncing off your valve cover its easy one two three repair here arm yourself with knowledge zerothread?id=104485

and i really don't think that a ka24de has lifters or maybe they just look different to me i'm not sure but i really don't think they have them

hmmm well ill take a look at that thanks this morning though i started it and it did the noise for a bit and the stopped but it drives perfectly fine and everything.

KA's are strong as balls so it'll run forever but eventually it will blow my original did two years ago
