Engine noise!!!

I've had my V for about a year n a half, and the engine is starting to work pretty dam loud. when i am at a stand still in drive sometimes the rpms start dropping lower then 1,000 and it sounds like the engines about to stall out. anyone know what this could be?

Are there any other symptoms?

Does it actually FEEL like it's about to stall? (likely cogged injectors, try using some concentrated Gumout in your next tank of gas)

Do you get a shaking in the car while at idle? (Broken motor mounts, apparently an unfortunately common occurrance in the V)

We need more info. Anything and everything that's a little unusual may help guide this.

yea, the car actually starts shaking, as if it feels like its gonna stall out. and whats pinging? its fine when i start gunning it, it only shakes and sounds like its gonna stall

Are you using regular gas or gas ethanol mixture. If the later our V's don't like Ethanol, I had the same symptoms with my V when I put 90% gas 10% Ethanol in my tank.

90% gasoline 10% ethanol. Look at the pump next time you fill up. Depending on your area it might say "contains up to 10% ethanol".

90% gas/10% ethanol is also known as E-10, and is the only fuel available in many areas.

The engine noise you describe is normal; when coming to a stop with my CVT SL, the engine speed dips slightly, but will NOT stall out. Also, as the engine breaks in, it will sound like a typical 4-cylinder Nissan engine; harsh and tinny. This is also normal; I've owned about six Nissan four-cylinder engine equipped Nissans.
