engine noise

sunday (the 11th) my engine started making a wonderfully loud clanking noise. at first I though it was the lifters tapping, then after searching around the forums for a while I thought it might be my timing chain guide. I let my dad hear it, and he thinks it's a rod bearing or a valve spring from over-revving the engine. The MP3 is blocked for me but,Dad might be right, Just because the ecu cuts fuel, It wont save you from oil starvation.Take a *long screw driver* and place it on the timing chain cover, the side of the block and on the valve cover and try to hunt it down. Good luck

oh and did u check ur oil? haha stupid me i had this ticking noise and i was so scared that it was the timing chain but i found out that i was leaking oil and that i had no oil so it was making the ticking noise

eh... oh well about the site. the noise went away after me and my friend drove around for a few hours the other day. it hasn't made it since. which I figure is good, or worse. but my oil is good, and there aren't any spots of any fluid where I park my car. but I think I'm gunna get the oil changed anyway, I don't know when it was last changed
