ok so i need to lift my engine a couple inches, but ive never messed w/ engine mounts before...how would i go about doing this?just unbolt mounts and lift?what else would i need to disconnect? (beside intercooler)

Aproximately how far up do you need to go?

Why do you haver to lift it?I am assuming you need to do it temporarily

Yes, unbolt and lift up slightly with a jack (by oil pan? Would sugest using a block of wood under it though) Make sure while lifting you're not putting stress on anything

Why are you doing this and how much do you have to go up?

iam doing this just to remove the upper oil pan because it it leaking oil but only while running, i reaserched some i found i would have to raise about 3 inches, i was planning on jacking up by the trans bellhousing using a floor jack and a peice of wood

if you decide to do it by jacking it up, find something solid to hold it up,like a jack stand, not just the jack. the last thing you want to happen is the cylinder in the jack to go out while your hands are up in there working. wouldnt be pretty at all. and it has happened before. i never trust just being under something supported only by a jack. good luck

Lossen bolts at the bottom of the engine mounts, and jack up where the engine meets the bellhousing. Don't bother jacking up from the oil pan since it'll be in the way.
